Saucony Endorphin Elite 3: Good tier, Buy now, high confidence — synthesized from 54 reviews across 14 creators, freshest review Oct 11, 2026.
TL;DR
The Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 delivers the softest, bounciest ride of any marathon racing shoe on the market, and for runners who love that sensation, it's a standout pick that multiple reviewers rate as S-tier or their top marathon shoe (mentions 50, 52, 100). But its extreme softness is divisive — several experienced testers found it too unstable for their liking or struggled to run fast in it. The Run Testers sum it up well: "more of the same" from the Elite 2 with welcome stability tweaks (mention 27). At $290, it's a premium investment best suited for midfoot strikers chasing a soft marathon experience; if you prefer a firmer, more aggressive racer or plan to run significantly faster than marathon pace, you'll want to look elsewhere.

Built from 107 attributed opinions, weighted by creator consensus, reviewer authority, and agreement between reviewers. Recency, reach, and buzz are not score inputs. “We're testing right now the Endorphin Elite 2 from or 3 from Saucony. And that one I kind of when I hit a sharp turn, I kind of have to”
“Sakin Endorphin Elite 3. I I really wanted to focus on race shoes for this list. Endorphin Elite 3, as I said earlier, that is more of a long run shoe, not a speedy shoe. I would go for any of these if I actually had to do a PR attempt over the Endorphin Elite 3.”
“If you think about the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 or if you talk about even the Hoka shoe, the Cielo X1”
“A lot of people like the Endorphin Elite 3 that's out. That one is super soft and spongy.”
“also the Sock Endorphin Elite 3, which also has that kind of super compressive foam. This is a bit smoother. It's a bit more sort of quick to return and and really good.”
“this shoe probably alongside the Sakin Endorphin Elite 3 were really the two top super trainers”
“It's not super squishy, so you're sinking right in like something like the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3”
“I just raced in the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3, and while my foot was doing okay, that shoe was way too soft for me”
“the Endorphin Elite 3”
“or Saki Endorphin Elite 3”
“we have the ASICS Metaspeed Sky and the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3.”
“it it does have a little bit of the Incred Run bounce that I love in the Endorphin Elite 3. >> Elite 3 was just solid, too.”
“The Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 is just incredurun. Sorry. It's it's insanely soft. It's insanely bouncy. Great for flat straight-line efforts.”
“It's not a sinky squash or something like the Endorphin Elite 3 which stands out for that reason”
“the Endorphin Elite 3, aimed for the marathon and mega soft in the mid sole”
“Today I took the Endorphin Elite 3 out for its first run, covered about 14 mi at about a moderate effort.”
“It definitely feels like a slightly different interpretation or implementation of the Incredun material here. A not quite as soft and bouncy sort of run as you get in the Elite 3.”
“compared perhaps to the Endorphin Elite 3. The version 3 of this in fact was very soft and very bouncy.”
“I wore them at Hackne half. Uh Sockin Elite 3. Oh yeah, no one got them at all. How very strange. Yeah, only the twos are out.”
“the same one they have in the Endorphin Elite”
“The question is then, what runner is going to like the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3?”
“that shoe is the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3. This is by far the softest racing shoe out on the market and quite possibly the softest racing shoe I've ever felt.”
“It's like the Sakin Endorphin Elite 3 if you ever run in that shoe. Just a very soft and bouncy and fun shoe to run in, but super fast.”
“For me, despite the crazy price, there's something here that's just absent from lots of other shoes... and it's an S tier for me for the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3.”
“And I said the Sakin Incred was the poor man or the Endorphin Elite 3 was the poor man's version of the Prime Evo X.”
“The Metaspeed Edge or the Saucony Endorphin Elite version 3 much better than marathon distance, much more popping, a little bit more responsive. They just are just faster shoes.”
“This is the Endorphin Elite 3. I believe this is set to release in June of 2026.”
“this and the Sakin Endorphin Elite 3 those two they for sure feel heavier than a lot of the shoes that are going below 200 gram”
“Today we're talking about the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3.”
“And this morning I am running in the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3. So you know what that means? It's not even going to be an easy run. It's going to be a hard run.”
“I've been doing all my longer efforts recently in the Endorphin Elite 3. This is the pair I got a few months back and I absolutely love this shoe.”
“I definitely am pretty much always going to reach for the Endorphin Elite 3s. I love the Bounce and the Super Shoe. This is also what I race my marathons in.”
“the Endorphin Elite 3 comparison to this shoe is like there's a lot ... In my opinion, kind of spoiler alert, it is significantly better”
“Where in the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3, they need to blend those two things. They need the performance, but they also need durability cuz that's more of a consumer level shoe that the expectation would be that it would last longer.”
“I've seen Ben Park's video on their Endorphin Elite 3, and it sounds like they're doing some great things, charging a lot of money. It sounds like they're really tuning their racing shoe mid sole nicely.”
“First up is the Elite 3, which is Sakin's most advanced race day shoe. The midsole foam remains incred, very soft and bouncy. However, they added more volume to the midsole, just giving us more foam for added stability. The plate has also been changed to be a bit more aggressive and stiff.”
“More incred stuff here in the Endorphin Elite 3. That ATPU material in the midsole, the softest I've tried”
“It's not like Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 soft”
“The Saucony Endorphin Elite 3, which has a more notable ride, again, just makes it something a bit more of a standout.”
“Definitely nothing like the Endorphin Elite 2 or 3.”
“things like the Endorphin Elite 3 at one end”
“I'm a massive fan of the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3. That's really soft and bouncy.”
“the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3, that was my first time actually running in this shoe”
“the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3. I'm a bit of an anomaly in the group cuz I really like this shoe. I don't think it's anyone else picked this, but I just I love soft bouncy shoes and they don't get much softer and bouncier than this shoe. Which I just found to be really fun. I'd probably say it's not as poppy as the Metaspeed Sky Tokyo.”
“I was debating until the very last second between the Elite 3 and the Nitro Elite here from Puma. And I think all of the mishaps that I had in the Elite 3 or the things I was looking for, I would have gotten in the Nitro Elite.”
“Lovely low weight, fantastic upper fit for my slightly narrow foot, and an incredible midsole material. It's one of the standout shoes for me of 2026 so far.”
“I'm finishing my miles on Saucony Endorphin Elite 3. Um I think I talked about this shoe on a previous episode, but I hadn't run in it yet. So, my hopes for the fit came true. Like this nice squared off wide toe box is so comfortable.”
“I did notice a wonderful new colorway of the Superb Endorphin Elite 3 from Socky. I think it's set to launch pretty soon. It's up on the sportshoes.com site right now. You can go and take a look at it if you want to. Stunning red and gold colorway with some hits of gray in there too.”
“closer to something like a DV8 Elite than it is an SC Elite V5 or a Sakin Endorphin Elite 3.”
“This is the new midsole design on the Elite 3.”
“this is a really exciting update with the Endorphin Elite 3. So big visual change here.”
“we already get an update for the Endorphin Elite with the Endorphin Elite 3. So, the upper goes back to a more similar style of V1.”
“This is the Endorphin Elite 3, as you mentioned. Um, obviously we keep with our uh Incred foam, which we we know performs well, incredibly lightweight, very energy efficient, all of the great things that we saw in the Endorphin Elite 2.”
“which shares the same geometry as the Endorphin Elite 3”
“the Endorphin Elite 3 on Saturday. So, excited to get my first miles in those two shoes as they look promising”
“The Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 is the squishiest marathon shoe that's on the market right now. I think it's ideally situated for a midfoot strikers who want the softest possible marathon experience.”
“This is the new midsole design on the Elite 3. And I brought this specifically due to the fact that Incredun as a phone has been a huge hit for us.”
“Hey people, welcome to the Run Testers and to our first run look at the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3. This is Saucony's flagship carbon racer. It is still packing that incredibly soft and springy TPE based Incred-Run foam in there, but there are some important tweaks to this mid-sole to bring a bit more stability. It's got a reworked carbon plate in there as well to pack a bit more punch. We've taken it for some early test miles and here's how we found those changes stacked up first time out.”
“they haven't in the Endorphin Elite 3. It's very similar to the two, but you just get a little bit more stability. Feels really good actually.”
“for me, the Elite 3 is an improvement on the last gen shoe. You still get all the bounce, the spring, the energy, but everything is a little bit more reliable underfoot”
“both soft, not the most stable, a little bit more stable compared to this one, really bouncy and faster compared to this one, a little more snug fit”
“we review the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3”
“I love the ride of this shoe. Like, I think that if I were to run a marathon in any shoe right now, this is what I would pick without a doubt.”
“Overall, the Endorphin Elite 3 is actually a little bit heavier than the Elite 2, which is pretty unusual. And also, 7.2 2 oz is on the heavy side of super shoes these days, but I'll forgive it because I think those extra ounces went towards making the shoe a little bit more stable”
“Okay, guys. I've got a good one for you today. We have another really really speedy shoe. My friends, this is the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3.”
“a keyword that I first heard about when learning about the Endorphin Elite 3 is the a very fun word, it's fluting.”
“It looks a little bit like the what is it called? Endorphin Elite 3 here. So, it's beefed up.”
“you can see it kind of takes the Endorphin Elite 3 um look there in the heel as far as how that rubber works”
“The Elite 3 are a lot of fun. You got packing a big bouncing bounding energy, a mix of sort of really high compression, high energy return that makes for a pumped up ride.”
“that you find in the Endorphin Elite V2 [01:13] and V3.”
“It's the same foam that they use in their most expensive racing shoe, the Endorphin Elite 3.”
“Endorphin Azura, Paramount Max, Endorphin Elite 3, Endorphin Pro 5, right? All really really good shoes”
“and now the 3, and we'll also have a review of the 3 coming real soon”
“I'm just testing the 3 and I'm really enjoying that as well. And it's basically like a sort of tweaked version of those shoes that's designed more for daily runs.”
“Saucony uses 100% Endorphin foam, the same super critical TP E related foam found in the Endorphin Elite 2 and 3.”
“we just got in the Elite 3 and feeling the sidewalls, while this feels similar, it doesn't feel exactly the same”
“last week we did the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3... the IncrediRun foam is also the foam that was used in the Endorphin Elite 3 that I just ran in and reviewed last week.”
“This is the Endorphin Elite 3. It uses Credo Run”
“can't really fault these at all. They're certainly one of my shoes of the year so far. I think there's a few key releases coming up that might have a chance or be in with a chance of being in that top five, but this one is right up there.”
“Endorphin Elite 3 were great for that kind of run too as well. Nice and soft and comfortable but good amount of speed at the end.”
“last but certainly not least is the Endorphin Elite 3, and this also goes through some major changes. You still have that Incredurun foam underfoot, but you now have a more aggressive carbon fiber plate, which adds some stability, but also allows you to get a little bit more energy return out of this crazy, crazy squishy foam.”
“So this is the Elite 3. Um and we'll talk about some of the updates here. So we use our awesome innovative um Incredun foam.”
“just going to be mindful of if you got that same experience that I did in the Saucony Endorphin Elite 2 and Elite 3 where the curvature put your foot up here.”
“I know the Endorphin Elite 3 has been one of the shoes that a handful of people are enjoying, but I think as a whole, they just they aren't really making it work”
“this is the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3, and this is the shoe with the highest drop that I'm considering. 39 in the heel, 31 in the heel in the forefoot for an 8 mm drop. It tips the scale at 246 g.”
“Adios Pro four or five, Nike Alphal 3 or four, I'm assuming. Endorphin Elite version three, Hocus Yellow X1, but all the brands, they're super shoes.”
“because of the forefoot rocker, I have it right over to my left and the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3. So like hyper aggressive rocker, really soft and bouncy foam.”
“incred, which is this super soft and bouncy foam that we loved in the Endorphin Elite 2 and three”
“Hey, so these are insane. Girl. Girl. Girl. Dude. This is awesome.”
“Endorphin Elite 3 is their marathon racing shoe. Top tier marathon racing shoe with the Incred foam”
“Sony Endorphin Elite 3”
“if you want the utmost in soft and bouncy feel for your 4-hour marathon, get the Sakin Endorphin Elite 3”
“And I like the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3.”
“Endorphin Elite 3 is an absolute banger. Amazingly compressive and it really saves the legs on those longer runs.”
“I mean, if you want something with the maximum amount of impact protection that you can get, the Endorphin Elite 3 is really that shoe. There's nothing else that's quite as soft and compressive, yet still feeling exciting and engaging, too. Although I don't think that softness will be for everybody.”
“Not perhaps as good as the stuff in the Endorphin Elite 3 that is just insanely sticky”
“it's still not as soft as something like the Incred and the Sakin Endorphin Elite 3”
“The Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 is the softest and the wildest.”
“It's definitely soft, but it's not super blast or socket endorphin Elite 3”
“The ATPU that they've used in the Sony Endorphin Elite is very squishy. It's actually, I think, a little bit too squishy.”
“Endorphin Elite 3, so squishy”
“if you like something like the Saki Endorphin Elite 3 and you are looking for a training shoe type of replacement you will like the Tracksmith Elliot Rider”
“Guys, this is the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3. And my friends, you're going to be able to pick up a pair of the Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 for $290. And yes, it's expensive, but you're paying for speed. Because the Endorphin Elite 3 is the tip of the spear when it comes to long-distance racing. Now, the Endorphin Elite 3 has 39 and 1/2 in the heel, 31 and 1/2 in the forefoot for an 8 mm drop. As you would expect, we have a lovely breathable mesh upper. We have a very aerated knit tongue. Now, the tongue is integrated, so it's almost like you're putting your foot into a booty. The heel collar has been completely redesigned. We have a nice bit of padding here on the back. And there really is no heel counter back here. This is nice and squishy. But you're going to get a good heel lock because you have some bands coming around the back. Now, for the midsole, Saucony is using their incredible run foam. Now, that's a TPEE foam, and it is super light. It is super squishy. Can you see me pressing that? Oh, this is going to be a soft ride. But that ride is going to be stiffened by a slotted carbon fiber plate. So, the Saucony incredible run mixed with the carbon fiber plate is going to give that soft yet very responsive ride that we know and love. Oh, and then if we just take a brief look at the outsole, you can see we've got some power track outsole rubber and a nice little window to see that plate. Guys, I am beyond excited to get some volume in the new Endorphin Elite 3.”
“the speaking of squish, the ultimate squish, uh been running a little bit in the Endorphin Elite 3. Um I didn't run in the two, I ran in the first one and it was firm and aggressive, but I had fun in it. This thing is ridiculous. Uh The softest, squishiest shoe, I think, I've ever run in.”
“The Elite 3 is very comfy, isn't it, the new Saucony shoe.”
“The Saucony Endorphin Elite 3 versus the Adidas Pro Evo 3. Most comfortable. Most stable. Most fun. Best for a 5K.”
“I love it in both the Endorphin Elite 2 and the 3. ... The V3s are a little bit more stable.”
