Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5: Okay tier, Consider, high confidence — synthesized from 81 reviews across 20 creators, freshest review Oct 11, 2026.
TL;DR
The Adios Pro 5 delivers a smooth, stable, and impressively light marathon-racing experience that many reviewers genuinely enjoy. However, the consensus is split by a serious durability concern: enough testers saw outsoles degrade alarmingly fast that it makes the $275 price a hard sell for anyone who expects a race shoe to last through a full training block. If you can accept the trade-off — or believe you got one of the non-affected pairs — the ride wins praise as one of the best-balanced super shoes of 2025–2026.

Built from 97 attributed opinions, weighted by creator consensus, reviewer authority, and agreement between reviewers. Recency, reach, and buzz are not score inputs. The trace evaluates raw consensus and confidence, not the score. The real BUY_NOW condition and returned values are shown here. Price is a value note, never a gate— a strong shoe keeps its recommendation even when it isn’t on sale.
The verdict reads the RAW consensus (share of creators recommending), not the score. A shoe can therefore be tier A yet CONSIDER rather than BUY_NOW when confidence is below HIGH.
“This shoe is good, but it didn't really blow me away. It kind of felt like, yeah, relatively standard carbon racing shoe for 2025 2026 standards.”
“This shoe certainly looks quite promising as well, I have to say.”
“I'm going A. I think meaningful changes were made in this iteration. ... I think you can really get a lot out of the shoe”
“I know we have the Adios Pro 5, as well as the Pro Evo 3 coming up.”
“I would 100% be comfortable running a marathon and running a good marathon in the Adios Pro 5”
“It's definitely a yay on the Adios Pro 5 when it releases whenever that is.”
“the Adidas Pro 5 weighs 195 g”
“energy rods and we've gone with this energy rim, I think it's called, which runs all the way around the shoe. Um, effectively like, how does it feel? It feels like a more stable EVO SL and a lighter one, a bit poppier.”
“I plan on reviewing both of these shoes again”
“Now, in the Adios Pro 5, you can kind of see what the problem is. As I said, this is my pair of Adios Pro 5s that I'm now put about 32 km or just a hair under 20 miles into and you can see there is wear there but it's to me that's very cosmetic.”
“Today I did my first run in the Audios Pro 5. I'm ready to share my thoughts with you, as well as go over the changes.”
“I have to flag the heel issue. I ended that test with some bloody socks, decent amount of skin removed from my heels, and I had kind of heel package issues here”
“this is 50 mi, right? Which I don't think is acceptable”
“The Pro 5, that midsole, that Lightstrike Pro that's in there is quite firm... That has gone with the Pro 5. It's much smoother. There's a much more uniformity to the platform underfoot”
“Hi this Thomas with Believe in the Run and we are going to go over the stats of the brand new Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5.”
“If some of that comes to the Pro 5 and it's a bit more accessible, then I think it will really work.”
“I'm really excited to see it how much of this tech trickles down into the Pro 5 to see if that shoe can basically deliver some of this at a cheaper price that's a bit more accessible”
“I think the Pro 5 is going to come in from Adidas with a more controlled, protective kind of wedge of Light Strike Pro.”
“if this is the same like tuning of a TPE that's going to be in the Adios Pro 5, like I'm excited for it”
“this is Adidas Pro 5 is coming in a lot lighter than that. I can tell you that. Uh, so it's going to be an impressive shoe.”
“حذاء "أديداس أديزيرو أديوس برو 5" القادم. أعتقد أن هذين الحذاءين سيعملان معاً بشكل جيد للغاية.”
“This week we take a live look at the Adidas Adios Pro 5 that is causing so many concerns about its durability.”
“the new Adios Pro 5, which I have not tested yet, but I really want to”
“The Adios Pro 5 was just announced by Adidas, and here are some of my first thoughts, as well as what has changed in the shoe.”
“this shoe is having major durability issues for a lot of runners, specifically in the toe where there is no rubber. All right, so again, 15 onroad, 15 on tread. On the right shoe, there's definitely some wear and tear. like it's definitely wearing down, but I don't have any of the kind of shredding of the outsole or that foam exposed foam at all.”
“I feel that the Addios Pro 5 is perhaps a slightly better shoe for me over any sort of running distance”
“I'm also not going to take these. And this was a very close decision because all along I've eyed this shoe up to take to Amsterdam, but I had one run in this shoe and I just got a little bit of a heat spot on my little toe”
“heel striking, I think Adris Pro 5, no doubt”
“Pro 5 is a little bit combining both.”
“For anybody who didn't see this, the Adios Pro 5 leaked onto r/running shoe geeks on Reddit. I think they found it because it was on some random European website. and we'll see if it's still up because Adidas takes their stuff as we know very seriously.”
“the AdiZero Adios Pro 5 could be imminent. I've spotted of stores out there that now have images and various colorways and pages set up sell the shoe.”
“I want to give you a little feedback on how the Pro 5's performed out there. I went out a little bit hot. I was hitting between 630 and 650 minute miles. The latter being my actual target pace for yesterday. And when I was moving well on fresh legs with a good kind of mid to forefoot strike, I think there was an impressive impetus to the shoes. Got a good energy coming back from that light strike pro midsole.”
“And the other Adidas story of the weekend is this shoe, the Adios Pro 5. This was the launch weekend for this shoe.”
“And then Eric got to experience the race first hand in the Audios Pro 5.”
“The Pro 5 definitely played well today as well, I'd say. Got me a 10-minute PB. Super proud of that. No issues whatsoever. Um feels snappy, responsive.”
“I will say that the Adios Pro 5 handled extremely well and I think it's because of that energy rim that having that support on the outside is just makes the whole shoe a lot more stable.”
“the imminent release of the Adios Pro 5”
“Video title: ENERGYRIM!? $275 Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5”
“I had a decent workout in that shoe. As I said, relatively mid-tier, but it was good and it was enjoyable and it would have slotted into the rotation nicely, but sadly, that is no longer happening.”
“the Adidas Pro 5. You will see that on the feet of all the influencers”
“Maybe the Adidas Pro 5 change of the way they're going. Oh, no. It's a beat, but I haven't reviewed it.”
“Look at the um Adidas Pro 5. That's uh the energy rods are gone in that. So, that's interesting straight away. So, it's more of a stabilizing agent around around the rim and giving you that.”
“I don't think that ... the Adios Pro 5 look anywhere close to as good as their previous generation. I think they all kind of look like bowling shoes”
“Hold on, let's see what this is. I'm fully prepared for this to be another pair of Adios Pro 5.”
“I am happy to say this is a very nice shoe. It's almost like they took the best parts of two of their best shoes, their best training shoe and their best race shoe, and they merged it.”
“These are the new Adios Pro 5. The line was so long, I did end up buying the Adidas Adios Pro 5 shoes and I thought about racing in them.”
“Currently, at the time of filming, Nike have got big reductions on the Alpha Fly version 3. No doubt clearing all their stock getting ready for version 4 coming in. They also have a slightly higher drop with that shoe, 8 mm versus four in the Adidas. And also quite a lot heavier, 64 g heavier in my sizes at 269 g. These two shoes feel very, very different. Nike gets all of its power from those two big AirPods at the front of the shoe and then a traditional carbon fiber plate running through the shoe. Whereas Adidas has their more responsive foam and that new energy rim going around the outside. Nike feels very mechanical, very unnatural to run in, whereas the Adidas feels very smooth and way more natural. Both very much marathon shoes, but if I had to choose one for shorter distances, I'd probably pick the Adidas. It's just a lot lighter. Heavier runners going to be a bit better suited to the Nike shoe. But for me, the Adidas takes it given just how smooth and just how nice this foam feels. just a little bit more up to-date, a little bit more 2026. So, should you be out there looking to buy the Adidas Addios Pro 5, putting the durability concerns to one side for a moment, this really is a very good update. It's going to suit so many different runners. It's light, it's fast, it's very stable, and most importantly brings a smile to your face. That new energy rim certainly isn't a gimmick, but it doesn't deliver the fastest 5K and 10K speeds that a plate or the rods would do. But the extra cushion from those brilliant, albeit not very durable, foams really allows the shoe to excel for regular runners at those half and full marathon paces. I'm lucky enough to be able to buy and test lots of different shoes here on the channel, but this one has been by far the worst I've ever tested for falling apart so quickly. So many shoe companies are using these very super soft foams that are great to run in, but unless you protect them with a full rubber outsole, they are just going to get shredded as in my experience here. Maybe I was just unlucky. I really don't know. I will do an update later on this year. I was so excited to get this shoe got into store and that was a pretty disappointing experience in itself. and then paid a huge chunk of cash to finally get this shoe online to be left so disappointed with how this shoe has worn and it's just not going to last for me. This begs the question of how much testing did they really do with this shoe? Did anybody actually run in it? Because surely that would have happened quite quickly. Anyway, let me know your thoughts down in the comments. Have you had this shoe? Have you had a similar experience? So, is it worth upgrading to version five? Well, I think so. Yes. It feels so much more of a well-rounded shoe, better suited for those regular runners and faster runners alike. But depending on your running form, it really might not last that long.”
“I like the shoe. Despite these issues, I actually like the shoe. I like the way it rides. I like the way it makes me feel. and I like the stride I can get into and all that sort of stuff. So, put them quality control issues to one side cuz I'm sure we can get another pair and it'll be fine. But the bigger issue actually is that this shoe is compromised.”
“when you compare that against the Adios Pro 5, which is going to be a lot lighter than the previous model”
“Maybe a uh Adios Pro 5 versus Alpha Fly 4 video.”
“Race day is calling. Built for chasing PBs and ready to take on the streets of Berlin, the adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5 has officially landed at Pro:Direct Running.”
“these are the new fives, which I have not run in yet... I've heard that stability is a little bit better... I've heard that it's a little bit firmer... They've gotten rid of the rods”
“the Adios Pro 5 is probably the most guaranteed for me to get because I'm curious how this energy rim system is going to work for people like me who don't love uh the feeling of carbon plates under my feet”
“We'll have a big follow-up to come very soon with some changed up tech actually in the Adios Pro 5. Perhaps a new plate arrangement there.”
“the closest shoe I had to the Adios Pro 5 was the Adios Pro 4”
“the Adios Pro 5. I have not had any unusual wear and tear on the outsole for these.”
“my experience with the Adios Pro 5 has been good. I just want to say I don't think it's okay though what's happening to a lot of people's shoes... unfortunate because I think it's a really good shoe. I think that it's very stable for what it is. I think it's very bouncy. I think that, um, you know, if not for the deterioration of the outsole, a lot of people would really, really like this one.”
“We've got stuff from Saucony, stuff from Adidas Adidas Pro 5s coming in September.”
“joining the lineup is the allnew Addios Pro 5. This is Adidas's performance racing shoe built for runners chasing PBS”
“So, let's talk about the Adios first because this is the first one that I ran in. So, with this guy, you're getting no gimmicks here. I I guess you could say there's a gimmick. Actually, there is a gimmick. There's the energy rim here. Gimmick of the Alpha Flies, the AirPod, but nothing underfoot here that feels like a gimmick. That's the biggest difference between these two. This shoe is just so smooth.”
“for the Adidas Hyperboost Run that ladders into the Adios Pro 5”
“maybe in the Adios Pro 5, we're going to see, you know, something more competitive in the weight department.”
“the Adidas Pro 5 which went viral this weekend at the Berlin Marathon”
“we've just seen two of the most important shoes of 2026 from a super shoe perspective released. The Adidas Audius Pro 5 and the Nike Alphalite 4. So, from a versus standpoint, I don't have any plans to do any specific verses for this shoe on older shoes, but this one's going to come up in conversation of the Adios Pro 5, the Alphal 4, and the Meta Speed Ray.”
“Adidas Addi Zeroser Addios Pro 5”
“Much comfier than the Pro Fours. Big fan of these. They're super like snappy and responsive. The energy room is so good. It's bouncy so far. Super comfortable.”
“it's a big yay for the Addios Pro 5 from Adidas”
“those of you who have watched my kind of Adios Pro 5 marathon test will know”
“we should probably see the Adios Pro 5 finally released”
“I'm going to present to you a first look at possibly one of the most anticipated race day shoe, probably challenged by Nike's Alphal Fly 4”
“Inside this box is the brand new Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5. It features an all new light lock upper. It's over 12% lighter than the Adidas Pro 4. And instead of a standard carbon plate, this shoe has a carbon infused energy rim that goes around the perimeter of the shoe. Adidas says this allows for a greater volume of light strike pro foam under your foot and 9% more energy return. Continental rubber traction. The coolest thing to me about this shoe is this feature in the back. This gold plated energy rim. And look at that. It projects Adizero onto the back. The Adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5 is available now for $275.”
“I want to welcome you to the review of the Adidas Pro 5.”
“a number of reviewers on the internet, some very notable runners showed some very early wear. And not just wear, there's some damage there to the outsole and exposed midsole materials.”
“Adidas Pro 5”
“I just looked at the Adios Pro 5. They released that the starting price on that is $275. ... seeing 275 coming out of Adidas for the Adios Pro 5, that's not going to be as fast as this is. That is a heavier shoe. It has a less aggressive geometry. It's made for the masses.”
“if the Adidas Pro 5 has managed to come through to me, which is highly unlikely cuz I don't think I'm high enough on the seeding list”
“Adios Pro 5 totally reimagined every component from the Adios Pro 4 re-engineered into this amazing 177 g racing shoe. The biggest unlock for us with the Adios Pro 5 is the new energy rim, carving out this center forefoot to give you uninterrupted energy return through the midsole. We've increased the stack height in the forefoot by 2 mm while also updating the Light Strike Pro to the same compound used in the Adios Pro 3, which gives you this amazing energetic feeling underfoot. is truly a rocket ship in a featherweight”
“I think pairing the Hyper Boost Edge with the upcoming Adios Pro 5, I think it's going to be an even better combination than the Hyperboost Edge to the Pro 4 because again, a lot of the new technology in the Adios Pro 5 that we saw in the Evo 3 is really again giving you a lot of the feel that's actually available in the Hyperboost Edge.”
“It's the new Adidas Addios Pro 5. Now, my friends, you're going to be able to pick up a pair of the Adidas Addios Pro 5 for $275.”
“Think of the Adidas Pro 5. One of the big things about that is that they shaved weight.”
“This is the Adidas Azero Adios Pro 5. It's got an updated Light Strike Pro foam, a redesigned carbon system, and it's over an ounce lighter than its predecessor.”
“it feels very comfortable and supportive and it feels like a soft shoe that's super lightweight. It's 175 grams which is really ultra light.”
“I picked up a pair of the Adios Pro 5 from Adidas, directly from Adidas. Just want to state that very clearly. These cost me 220 quid. They're not paying me to make this review.”
“I was very impressed because I was nervous when I put this shoe on because I was like, wow, does this fit short? Should I be worried about that? But again, it's how the design is being able to fit close. And even over like 12 mile runs, I have not had any blistering, which has been really, really great.”
“I honestly, if it wasn't for the blistering, it probably would be my marathon shoe right now if I had to run a marathon tomorrow.”
“I started off the review saying I'm a little bit mixed on these shoes and I've only said glowing things so far. So here we go. Here's the turn.”
“Today we are going to review the Adidas Adazero Adios Pro 5 with a new energy rim, carbon plated rim, a new light lock upper, and a refined heel.”
Consensus shrinkage raw consensus 0.760 is pulled toward the catalog prior 0.83 (strength 10) over 81 reviews → 0.768. That shrinkage is why a thinly-unanimous shoe doesn’t outrank a deeply-loved one.
